FAQ

Custom Watches FAQ

Q. Are there any problems with the waterproof function?
A. There is no problem as no modifications have been made to the waterproofing parts.

Q.How long does the battery last?
A. Generally, it will last about 5 years. Depending on the usage environment, it may last 2 or 3 years, but in some cases it may last for 10 years or more.
The backlight function consumes batteries, so we recommend that you avoid using it frequently.
Also, models with solar charging capabilities cannot be used forever. Even storage batteries inevitably deteriorate over time, so they will eventually need to be replaced, but they are usually capable of being used for more than 10 years.

Q. Where should I take my device for battery replacement?
A. Since DAMUE products are "modified products", please be aware that they cannot be subjected to official repairs or battery replacements by Casio.
Many stores that make duplicate keys and repair shoes also offer watch battery replacement, and can do the job for around 2,000 yen.
You can also return the product to DAMUE ONLINE STORE.
If the battery dies or other problems occur within one year of purchase, we will consider this to be a manufacturing defect and will provide a replacement free of charge.

Q. How do I take care of the SV925 case?

A. Regarding glossy products (applicable products: 5600-Silver, 5000-Silver, etc.)

[ Features and process ]
Shiny items are plated with jewellery grade rhodium.
This rhodium plating is a thin film about 0.1 microns (1/10,000 mm) that gradually peels off with wear over time, promoting a more natural and beautiful aging process over time than silver products with an uncoated surface.

[Care instructions ]
If you want to restore shine or remove scratches, we recommend the German metal polish "GLANOL."
Apply to a polishing cloth or T-shirt material.

Please understand that the properties of this metal abrasive are similar to those of toothpaste.
If you use too much or polish too hard, the surface may wear down and the appearance may be affected.
We recommend that you do not use too much pressure at first and polish while checking the condition.

A. Regarding vintage processed products (applicable products: 5600-Vintage, 5000-Vintage, 5000-Hokusai, etc.)

This information is summarized on this page .

A. Not at all, as we do not modify the parts related to waterproofing.

Q. How long does the battery last?
A. Normally, you can expect it to last around 5 years. Depending on the environment in which it is used, it may run out in 2 or 3 years, or in some cases, it may last for over 10 years.
Since the backlight function drains the battery, we recommend that you avoid using it frequently.
In addition, please keep in mind that models with a solar recharging function will not last permanently. Even storage batteries will inevitably deteriorate over time and will eventually need to be replaced, but they can usually be used for 10 years or more.

Q. Where should I bring my watch for battery replacement?
A. DAMUE products are considered modified products and are not eligible for authorized repair or battery replacement by Casio.
Many stores that make duplicate keys and repair shoes also offer watch battery replacement, which can be done for around ¥2,000.

【How to maintain Silver925】

■Polished silver (5600-Silver, 5000-Silver)

(Characteristics & manufacturing process)
Our glossier products are rhodium-plated for aesthetics.
This rhodium plating is a thin film of about 0.1μ(1/10,000 mm) that gradually peels off with wear over time, resulting in a more natural and beautiful aging process than in silver products with uncoated surfaces.

(How to maintain)
For restoring luster or removing scratches, we recommend GLANOL, a metal polisher made in Germany.
Apply it to a polishing cloth or a cloth made of T-shirt material before use.

The metal polisher has similar properties to toothpaste.
Too much use or excessive polishing may cause thinning on the surface and affect the product's appearance.
We recommend brushing while checking the condition and not applying too much force at first.
